Steven Knight has been hired to adapt The Lost Symbol. Based on the third book by The Da Vinci Code writer Dan Brown, follows Robert Langdon to Washington, DC where he begins decoding the symbols of the Freemasons. Tom Hanks is expected to return as Langdon, although he has yet to sign on to the project. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will again produce.

The Lost Symbol was published last September and sold more than 1 million copies in its first day in the US.
